About Us

Weckström Roastery is a Finnish, independently owned gourmet coffee roastery led by Founder and Master Roaster Peter Weckström, whose career spans more than 30 years of international experience in sourcing, blending, and roasting exceptional coffees. Peter is widely regarded as one of the true masters of hot-air coffee roasting and has, among many notable achievements, roasted specialty coffees for a former U.S. President as well as two Presidents of Finland.

At Weckström Roastery, the entire process—from selecting raw beans to roasting, blending, packaging, and delivery—is managed in-house by a dedicated team of professionals. Our goal is simple: to craft some of the finest and most flavourful coffees in the world, always fresh roasted to order.

Selected From the Top 10% of the World’s Arabica Crop

Great coffee begins long before the roast. We source only first-grade Arabica beans from the world’s best-growing regions, including Africa, Central and South America, and Asia-Pacific. Our quality rule is absolute: If we don’t get the best, we wait. We never compromise. All raw beans are stored in a strictly controlled environment to maintain perfect humidity, temperature, and cleanliness—ensuring they remain in ideal condition until the precise moment of roasting.

1996

Weckström Roastery was founded by Peter Weckström, inspired by a lifelong passion for crafting luxury, fresh-roasted coffees in his hometown, Helsinki, Finland.

2007

The Weckström family expanded internationally and opened a production facility in Thailand, marking the beginning of an unforgettable, nearly two-decade journey in Bangkok.

2015

Peter’s Coffee opened its first retail shop in Central Chidlom, pioneering in-store coffee roasting inside one of Bangkok’s premier luxury department stores.

2018

Peter’s Coffee expanded to Central World, Thailand’s largest luxury shopping destination, becoming one of the most recognised and exquisite coffee retailers in Bangkok.

2025

After years in the international coffee scene, Weckström Roastery returned to its roots in Helsinki. Reborn as Weckström Roastery, the brand now brings an exquisite and modern Nordic coffee experience in Katajanokka, Helsinki.

Roasting Process

Unique Hot Air Precision

We use a proprietary hot air roasting system, which roasts the beans cleanly, evenly, and without scorching or baking. Each coffee variety is roasted at its own optimal temperature, preserving clarity, sweetness, and aroma. Roasted with renewable biogas and a clean hot-air fluid bed system, our coffee is exceptionally pure — almost a “health coffee”.  

Peter has developed a unique roasting technique that “locks in” the coffee’s natural aroma throughout the entire process. Immediately after roasting, the coffee is packed to preserve its full character, delivered fresh for maximum flavour.
